Colored my hair
Current mood: feisty 
Soooo... I colored my hair yesterday... but you can't really see it here too well... But I'll put up a picture here of me and my old hair too, so you can see the difference...

Week from hell...
Current mood: frustrated 
We got Christina (my niece) last Wednesday.
Monday- both Doug and I had an appointment for our psychological assessments to see if we are ready for our gastric bypass surgeries. Christina was great during this three hour counseling. After that we went to a Salvation Army to get her some shoes and found a couple pair, a few shirts and a skirt. We then went to her dad's to get some of her toys and finally got home around 6pm.
Tuesday - I can't recall anything exciting Tuesday. Just stayed at home and made a lot of calls about Christina- like school, financial aid..etc...
Wednesday was a complete disaster! I had to take Christina to the State office to visit with her parents. We have to do this once a week, for an hour, for now. Her parents, four siblings, aunt (whom has one of her sisters), grandma (who has her two brothers) and the lady that has one of her sisters were all there; to say the least- it was a zoo. We waited an extremely long time just to sign in and when it was finally time for the visit they took the parents and all the kids back to visit. They sent all of the caretakers away. We went outside and vented our frustrations.
After the visit the dad threw this fit and made Christina all emotional. I took her out of there as quickly as possible. We left there and were going to run some errands. We were going to go to a coney island for lunch and stopped at a sausage factory first. When we were getting out of the car Christina slammed her finger in the car door! So we spent the next three hours or so at the hospital ER. They are unsure if she fractured it or not- so they are treating it like she did and she has to wear a splint for a while. I also asked the doctor to check her for a very long lasting cough she has. When we got her I was told that she had been over a cold for a "couple weeks", well when she moved in she was still coughing and I tried to get her into Addison's pediatrician, but I couldn't because I didn't have her medicaid information yet. Well low and behold- she has "old bronchitis". She was given some antibiotics for a couple weeks and we were sent on our way.
Just as I got home and settled and ready to start some dinner- Doug called. "I need a ride". I was thinking he was on his way home and I wouldn't have to drive too far go get him, but no, he was still at work- the truck wouldn't start. So I had to load up the girls and drive 1/2 hour each way to go get him.
After we picked him up we all went to a Chinese buffet for dinner and came home.Thursday morning I woke up feeling alright, but within 1/2 hour I was feeling so darn sick. I spent the next 12 hours throwing up and feeling so, so weak. Doug actually came home early to take care of his sick girlie's. I guess it was food poisoning, not sure.
Addison has been sick for a few days, throwing up and nasty diapers... so today was the last straw. After throwing up more than I've ever seen a baby throw up I decided it was time to get her in. We have an appointment for her at 2:30pm today. I really hope they don't want to admit my baby girl!
Wish us luck.Doug is starting to feel lousy today too :-(

What a Great Week!
Wednesday (02.06.08) I had a doctor’s appointment with a new doctor because mine is very small-town like, unprofessional and careless. This new doctor is excellent to say the least. I was referred to him by my bariatric bypass counselor because he is excellent with post-surgery care. The doctor that I was seeing was neglecting my diabetes and I just got to the point of being fed up. The new doctor is going to be working with me very regularly to get my insulin doses to a point that they keep my diabetes under tight control. This new doctor has also had the gastric bypass surgery that Doug and I are going to have. Not only did he have it, but his wife, mother, father, two uncles and three cousins have all had it. I was so shocked to hear that! It is very nice to finally have a doctor that is for the surgery, rather than my previous doctor who was ultimately inattentive to my needs.After my appointment Wednesday I took Addison to the Oakland Mall and met a couple Café Mom friends (Rose and Theresa). That was a fun afternoon.
Thursday (02.07.08) was great too! The doctor that I met Wednesday referred me to a neurologist for my Bell’s Palsy. This neurologist was very optimistic that Botox treatments would work successfully. I am very, very eager to get the process rolling!
Saturday (02.09.08) was a blast! I took Addy and met up with a couple café mom friends (Rose and Wendi) at a mall that I have never been to (Great Lakes Crossing). I have never in my life seen such an amazing mall. It was huge and fun and had tons and tons of stores. I was like a kid in a candy store.
