Somewhere in My Heart
Somewhere in My Heart
There was a time in my life that I was happy and felt the love that others speak of. Seems so long ago and such a sad time now.
I loved a man who was all anyone could ask for in their life. He gave to me a brief time of passion and bliss that I will never again experience. A love story not so unlike that of many others with the ending… oh well… I am getting ahead of myself.
He was the one person in the world I had come to trust and I loved …still do with all my heart. I believed in him as I had never believed in another. I knew he would always be there for me.
He was gentle and kind, passionate and tender. He knew how to calm my fears, how to hold me in his arms and take away any pain I was feeling. He was a man with a beauty deep inside him I had never seen nor felt before.
I wanted nothing more in this world then to spend the rest of my life, be that a day, or years with this man. I know he loved me in his own certain way. He was the one that could calm my fears and make me feel as if nothing else mattered. He was a perfect friend and lover, companion and confidante. A connection that went beyond words or physical being, a soul connection that brought two people together and bound them.We talked about so many things our fears and dreams. Each day we spent together was like an unbelievable experience. I had someone who listened, someone who cared… someone who I could trust and hold within my heart.
I sometimes sit back and remember the times that we shared and miss him beyond belief… but… I also remember the happy times and grin.I still don’t understand why we couldn’t be more than what we were; I suppose I never will so I have to just accept things as they are. I believe I am still in his heart even though that may be only wishful believing on my part. Or maybe it’s a need I can’t let go of for I think I would be terribly saddened if I was not.All good things come to an end. I am a changed person now; and I owe that all to him. The night that we last saw one another a part of me died. The pain of letting him go is far beyond that of any I have ever experienced. I never knew you could die over and over and still live to see the sun set. I pray he loves me somewhere deep inside his heart. I would have died for him and have in a way… for he is all I ever wanted or needed in my life.
